President

This is the leading role within King’s Think Tank, from whose strategy and leadership King’s Think Tank is led. The President is the figurehead and leader of the society, and is responsible for setting the annual strategy, goals and objectives, managing the Core Committee and overseeing all corresponding activity.

Job responsibilities:

• Development of King’s Think Tank Annual Strategy

• Leadership and general management of King’s Think Tank committee, providing cohesiveness and overall strategic focus for events

• Contact for King’s Think Tank patron(s), strategic partners and leading public figures

• Organizing recruitment for the General Committee

•Organizing lobbying trip to the European Parliament

Desirable Skills/Attributes:

• Strategic thinker, passionate about maintaining King’s Think Tank as Europe’s largest student-led think tank, with ideas to further expand King’s Think Tank

• Strong leadership skills, patience and fairness in managing King’s Think Tank committee, ability to manage competing priorities, and attention to detail, with ability to lead projects through to completion.

• Strong professional presence when representing and advocating King’s Think Tank with patron(s) and major partners (King’s College London and leading public figures).

• Strong understanding of policy and ability to provide leadership in policy development within King’s Think Tank.

Vice-President

The Vice President works closely with the President to ensure Committee cohesiveness and delivery of King’s Think Tank annual strategy, goals and objectives, managing the Core Committee and overseeing all corresponding activity.

Job responsibilities:

• Shared general management of King’s Think Tank Committee and events

• Shared leadership and general management of King’s Think Tank committee, providing cohesiveness, strategic focus, and point of contact for internal management, overseeing specific policy centre delivery

• Miscellaneous tasks that committee members may need help with

• Organizing annual UCL-KCL Policy Debate

•Organizing lobbying trip to Westminster

Desirable Skills/Attributes:

• Passionate about maintaining King’s Think Tank as Europe’s largest student-led think tank, with strong ability to lead on specific projects

• Strong leadership skills, patience and fairness in managing King’s Think Tank committee, ability to manage competing priorities, and attention to detail, with ability to lead projects through to completion.

• Strong people skills when working across multiple policy centres within King’s Think Tank

• Strong understanding of policy and ability to provide leadership in policy development within King’s Think Tank.

 

Social Secretary 

The Social Secretary role is important because socials allow King’s Think Tank Committee and general members to get to know each other better, enjoy themselves more and ultimately build greater commitment to King’s Think Tank.

Job responsibilities:

• Organises well run, fun social and/or teambuilding events for committee and general members

• Organises team-building for committee members

• Provide the opportunity for members to get to know each other better, and build greater commitment to King’s Think Tank

Desirable Skills/Attributes:

• Event planning of varied and successful social and team-building events, with dedication, logistical organization and ability to deliver on projects

• A strong people person with ability engage socially with many different people and bring them together in a fun and cohesive way

• Be motivated, ability to deliver work to deadlines, good communication skills, capacity to generate creative ideas, time management and organizational skills.
